When I log in LJ informs me that it's been a month since I last updated here. That's a long time and I'm not sure I can ever begin to explain what has happened. Work has been manic and although on the surface it would appear that I've done well for myself, I can't quite suppress the nagging suspicion that it's not all as rosy as it seems. Waiting for the other shoe to drop I guess. Tomorrow I have the pleasure of enjoying a four hour drive to Broadstairs. The home of Charles Dickens someone informed me. Everyone keeps telling me how nice it's meant to be, picturesque even. All I know is that it's north Kent as still far too close the Medway for my liking. I did my Medway stint, got screwed over by the job and the company, thank you very much. The only good thing about that six months of my life was the people that I was able to share it with. I still count many of them as very good friendsHere's hoping I can look back on Broadstairs afterwards and say I enjoyed at least some aspect of it in the same way.--- -- -I've missed out on a lot of things, dear flist! I do so sincerely apologise. I'll try to make the rounds and make it up to you somehow. Why did I do that? Oh well, it'll give me something to do in Kent in the evening's when I'm all alone. (self pitying much?) So, I'm at home this evening, back at my parents' place. Back in my old room that's not *really* my room any more and importing all of my old CD's into iTunes. Gods, there's stuff here that I've not listened to for *years*. It's really odd. Even stranger though is that there are very few that I'm ashamed of owning. Everyone has them, the odd album that lurks quietly in the corner of your collection just waiting for someone else to look through it before it jumps out like a neon sign to cause much embarrassment. I don't seem to have 'em. Very, suspiciously odd. Did I throw them out at some point?--- -- -I just got massively spoiled by someone over at spooky_doings. Fandom sucketh at times. And all I was asking as whether I should run the damn prompt-a-rama or not.At least it's not the Supernatural fandom...--- -- -Oh my dear giddy aunt!ROFL! There simply aren't words for this. It's incredibly disturbing and kinda hot and just down right hilarious all at the same time. Did I mention disturbing. Clown. Porn. One might go so far as smut.HEY YOU KNOW WHAT ELSE IS FUNNY? CLOWN PORN. Written by aggybird and avalon13, who have somehow stumbled upon all kinds of crack. Please, heed my advice; it is NOT work safe, and it's MOST definitely NOT for you if you have some kind of clown PHOBIA. However, if you want to go read some very hot and incredibly weird clown S&M with a side order of hilarity, then I highly recommend it.Damnable odd stuff, Jeeves. Damnably odd.--- -- -So yeh, still having amazing problems sleeping. And I seem to be missing some of my CDs. The cases are there but the discs aren't. I seem to recall taking them out and putting them in a travel case to put in the car. I've not seen them since I bought the new car though. Can't remember where all of the stuff I took out of the old one ended up. Hmmm, puzzling.Ah well, it's not like there aren't enough to be working my way through for the time being. I've then got to start thinking about making a play list for the house-warming next weekend. Any suggestions? Are there certain songs that people ought to play in this situation? Otherwise I'm going to pick some of the lesser played tracks and stick those in a list to inflict on people.I shall endeavour to grab a few of the more interesting ones for the flist to nab. I'm importing most straight in itunes though, so they'll be... ipod format, right? I have no idea what that is. Will people be able to deal with that? Another puzzle eh?

The wicked things insomnia does to my brain.Freakishly, I have once again discovered that four hours sleep seems to be my optimum amount. Weird.So, around 04.30 I was struck by an idea, and I think it's most likely a mad idea but I'm going to throw it out there anyway and see what you guys think. The idea was for a Spooks ficathon. I know that melanie_anne started to put one together, but that was in February and I've not seen/heard anything since. I'm thinking I shall follow the marvellous example of the potcfest community in how it's run etc. Because that's so sleek and seems to work really well.
